An amazing woman with a heartbreaking story…

http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20306373,00.html…I’m going to switch gears here for a bit.  I normally just post my designs or craft projects that I have been looking at but within the past couple of weeks I learned of a story that I can’t keep my mind off of.  The story of a woman who had a very hard choice to make and thought she had made the right one for her, her child, and her family…but thanks to calculated lies and betrayal she is now fighting a battle to be able to be in her daughters life.

I wont rewrite the entire story here because quite frankly it will make me hot to do so.  But I want to introduce you to this story and this strong woman that is going through this hell.  She has recently been featured on Dr Phil and in People magazine telling her story.  Her name is Carla Moquin and she has 3 beautiful daughters, Alpha, Echo, and Peri.  Peri was given up for an open adoption when she was born…an open adoption that the adoptive parents have illegally closed using calculated lies and fraud.  image

Please click the photo above or to the left to go to People magazine to read her article.  She also appeared on Dr Phil on December 11, 2009.  Here is a link to that show: http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/5473/?id=5473&showID=1366

This “open” adoption was featured on an episode of Adoption Stories on TLC…links to those can be found on youtube or are clearly outlined in Carla’s blog.

Ok, here are the important links…Carla’s website www.bringperihome.com and her blog www.bringperihome.blogspot.com  The website is HEAVY reading but it is important to read all of it to see the scope of the situation.  And after reading if you wish to show your support please feel free to copy my blog.

We're trying to raise $2,800 to continue fighting to bring Peri home, and I wanted to see whether you might be willing to let others know... We've been able to cover or have waived the other expenses for the appeal, but we need the transcript from the trial to have a successful appeal, and if we don't come up with the money for the transcript, the court will dismiss the appeal. If you would be willing to spread the word to people who may want to help, our family would be so grateful...

We have just a single page website up explaining relevant details primarily for those who already know the story, which includes a place for donations or loans... It's at the original site location:

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you so much...
