An amazing woman with a heartbreaking story…

http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20306373,00.html…I’m going to switch gears here for a bit.  I normally just post my designs or craft projects that I have been looking at but within the past couple of weeks I learned of a story that I can’t keep my mind off of.  The story of a woman who had a very hard choice to make and thought she had made the right one for her, her child, and her family…but thanks to calculated lies and betrayal she is now fighting a battle to be able to be in her daughters life.

I wont rewrite the entire story here because quite frankly it will make me hot to do so.  But I want to introduce you to this story and this strong woman that is going through this hell.  She has recently been featured on Dr Phil and in People magazine telling her story.  Her name is Carla Moquin and she has 3 beautiful daughters, Alpha, Echo, and Peri.  Peri was given up for an open adoption when she was born…an open adoption that the adoptive parents have illegally closed using calculated lies and fraud.  image

Please click the photo above or to the left to go to People magazine to read her article.  She also appeared on Dr Phil on December 11, 2009.  Here is a link to that show: http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/5473/?id=5473&showID=1366

This “open” adoption was featured on an episode of Adoption Stories on TLC…links to those can be found on youtube or are clearly outlined in Carla’s blog.

Ok, here are the important links…Carla’s website www.bringperihome.com and her blog www.bringperihome.blogspot.com  The website is HEAVY reading but it is important to read all of it to see the scope of the situation.  And after reading if you wish to show your support please feel free to copy my blog.

A Star Is Born

movie poster announcementMy dear friend Kim (owner of Little Ladybug Designs) was asked by a client to create a movie poster birth announcement.  We have both seen them but had never attempted to do one ourselves so she asked me to brainstorm with her.  She completed her design which turned out great and I told her I would love to make up a sample one because I had so much fun talking about her project.  She told me she had the PERFECT picture to use and sent me an amazing pic of when her daughter was a baby!  This is the original pic before the editing.

I did my magic and I really like how it turned out!  Hope you like it…I sure enjoyed designing it :)

From Santa (nearly forgot again this year)

I should have had these up a month ago but time got away from me.  You still have time to get these before Christmas but they take a week to come in so you pretty much have until Wednesday to order if you would like.

From Santa tags and labels.  The tags business card size and come with little envelopes.  They are 25 - $11, 50 - $13.  The labels are address label size and are $12 for a set of 140 (some for this year and some for next).  To order simply email me at craftylilmomma@gmail.com with your names and color/theme.  100s of styles are available…just let me know what you want.
