I was asked by one of my clients to design a stationery set to match my utterly fabulous and extremely popular Breakfast At Tiffany's bridal shower set. So here it is!

For $35 you get 10 personalized note cards, a notepad, & return address labels. And for a limited time I am including FREE SHIPPING.

I have created a "Buy It Now" button using PayPal & would love for some of you to try it out and see if it works correctly. Let me know if you have any problems. I have also included the option of buying the items separately if you wish so check it out!

January wedding - my invitation design FINALLY

I would wait til the very last day of the month to get this posted but I have been so busy I haven't had time to design it...lol.

The inital colors I wanted to focus on were green and eggplant. Both colors are very rich and still have the holiday feeling...perfect for a January wedding! The first two pics I found when I googled were these two...

Notice the peacock feathers? I LOVE peacocks! So I decided there was my inspiration! I started designing! ANDDD...(drum roll please)...

Well what do you think!? I think it is stunning :) The colors of the border can be changed so that you emphasize another color. Also there are a wide variety of pocketfold colors that you could choose to compliment it...

And You know how some invitations have a sheet of vellum over them...well I think that this invitation would ROCK with a peacock feather instead, don't you!? Kinda like this...

Here are a couple more inspiration boards I found...Enjoy :)

What kind of purse do you carry?

I was tagged by Stephanie at http://mamasonlinecafe.blogspot.com/ & Kim at http://littleladybugdesigns.blogspot.com. And this is so totally up my alley! Anyone that knows me knows that I have always been a purse FREAK! It's my obsession...not so much now as it used to be but I am still very very picky about my bags. So this should be fun! Here we go :)

Here are the tag rules:

1) Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you cannot go up to your closet and pull out that cute little purse you used back before you had kids. I want to know what you carried today.

Here it is everybody! Cute and innocent looking on the outside with a wild side on the inside...just like me! LMAO

2) I want to know how much it cost. And this is not to judge, because I’m honestly telling you I was ready to put down some cash; I just got lucky. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I’d love to hear it.

It cost about $20 from Catos. No real story behind it...just out shopping with a girlfriend of mine and it caught my eye :)

3) Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you’re showing everyone your diaper bag/non-diaper bag.

A Victorian Affair

I can not get enough of the Victorian era. The arches, peaks, color, heavy prints, picture frames, lace... you name you can have it in this era. It's about wealth and abundance... even if the people of the day were poor they were rich with color and liveliness. Architect was booming and so was this the age of photography which is why cameo's and picture frames become a recognizing sign of the time.

The home was the most important aspect and it was decorated to the T ~
Check out these pictures to see modern day Victorian life.

In a Victorian era the attention is paid to detail as with monograms, cameo's, lace, and period pieces such as silver frames and keys. In the later part of the Victorian era the bustle disappears and bodices become the focus with very delicate and feminine accessories such as hats and hair pieces. From this we derive our modern day look so this era is very significant to women.

This is the perfect approach to a sweet sixteen, bridal party, and can make for a very creative bachelorette party, as well! Pinks and Golds add a nice touch of color to the seamlessly black and white affair. Try to keep with the black lace and white satin to keep with the true spirit of the era. Corsets, bustle, lace and femininity were a huge part of this period so stick with it and you will have the perfect Victorian Affair. I found so many sources of inspiration that I had to combine as best I could. Please click on each board to see in more detail.

All the favors shown are from www.KateAspen.com

The Invitations from www.craftylilmomma.cceasy.com

Here are some cameo illustrations to help you with a project of your own.

If interested Jen and I can put together the right Victorian style invite just for you by using your own photo for a cameo or coming up with a unique design of our own ~ just send us a design request and we would be more then happy to work with you.

Lastly, I'm working on this centerpiece for a bridal shower. I can't wait to show you guys the final product but here is a sample of things to come. I will also be doing a pregnant form, purse, shoe, and occasion dress. This is my new project for '09!

My Superhero, My Son!

My son loves Batman. He has all the episodes, movies, houses, figures, t-shirts. His favorite is Batman vs. Dracula. I know, but these two really do get together and duke it out in the new episodes. I guess they are running out of bad guys! I'm not as big of a fan but when I saw this room from Pottery Barn Kids - I immediately thought he would love it and I could live with it too!

The inspiration room from Pottery Barn Kids.

The affordable room from JCPenney.
I'm still choosing between the Bradley and Ethan Collections. Each are comparable to the pottery room shown above yet they are significantly less money and will do just fine.

The actual room in my house:

Not quite finished but thought I would share.

The scene is easy to duplicate but if you rather not potterybarkids.com sells a mural that you can easily apply but it's costly.

If you choose to do it yourself here's some tips:
  • First sketch out the cityscape on a piece of paper so you can use it as a guideline.
  • Then use a level to make the lines straight when drawing it on the wall.
  • Color it in using CHALKBOARD paint leaving the edges undone.
  • It will need two coats but 1 gallon of paint is more than enough.
  • Then go in with an artist brush and try your hardest to get a straight line going across and down. If you keep it simple you don't need much talent, just patience and lots of it.
  • The lines don't have to be completely straight - it adds character if there not!
  • Then get some Batman or Spiderman decals and chalkboard wallies in the form of airplanes and clouds and you have your very own Gotham city mural.
  • If you don't overdue the bedding you will have a room that is fun and tolerable and not over the top. I love the contrast of blue and black. I think it's mature enough to carry over for years to come, but young enough to enjoy for now.

I know my son can't wait to have it finished so he can masquerade around as Batman pretending his sister is the evil Cat woman and the baby is robin. There's nothing like creating a room that inspires imaginative play. Thank you to the designers at Pottery Barn Kids for such a great idea.
